Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Where and when is the event taking place?
The event will be held at Baza Dance Studios at 1304 Seymour Street on Saturday, September 14th – Sunday, September 15th, 2024.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your phone with the ticket/QR code. Bring the wristband that we will provide for you.
A bottle of water and dance shoes are also recommended.
You don't need to bring a partner as we will be rotating in class.
How many students are in each class?
The Level Up Encore Weekender will be limited to 25 couples (50 people total).
The Styling Classes are uncapped as you will not need a partner and more space will be available to dance in.
Do I need previous experience?
Previous experience in Bachata, especially Bachata Sensual will be especially useful as these workshops are aimed to bring artists to help Level Up our skills and dancing. You should have at least 6+ months of experience in Bachata.
How difficult are the classes/what are the level of the classes?
As a progressive focused weekender, Saturday will focus on more fundamental movements and Sunday will build on top of these fundamentals.
There is always room to improve your mastery of the core fundamentals of the dance, often you will see many of our local instructors taking classes.
Can I just take Saturday/Sunday workshops?
No, unfortunately. We are prioritizing the balance of the classes and want to ensure that full weekend attendees have a consistent experience first.
How can I take private lessons with the artists?
Please message or email us about that as we are coordinating the artists schedules. Privates will be given priority to event attendees as they are supporting the event. Private Lesson rates will be the instructors rate, plus a room rental fee.
Parking
Street parking is available around the studio. Downtown limits it to 2hours so we will build in breaks to allow the change. If you can find alternative methods to make it to class, we would recommend it.
Refunds & Transfers
Transfers are allowed if you are unable to attend the event. Please email us. Refunds only allowed in extraneous circumstances. We aren't unreasonable but we do have budgets, goals, and capacities to manage and balance.
Can I purchase tickets at the door or do I need to buy them in advance?
Workshop tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be sold at the door. However, party or social passes can be purchased upon arrival at the event venue.
